Posted on 01/30/2017
Robotics WrightRobotics team sponsors Mr. Arizpe and Mrs. Gonzalez took students from Wright Elementary to the First Lego League (FLL) at Tex Hills  Middle School to showcase their skills in robot design and problem solving on Satuday, January 28, 2017.

Mr. Arizpe mentioned "They [students] were talking about the team, robot design, and how to solve an animal crisis." Teams worked together to solve problems such as rescuing a pig, gorilla, sharks and other critical "missions" using their robots. No coaches were allowed to be on stage with students. In addition, there were three panels of interviews in which the teams spoke with judges with no coaches present.

When asked about the event, Mr. Arizpe said "Students got better in each round scoring more points for our school. It was a great event and our kids had a fun time working as a team and with technology."

Wright Elementary scored 9th place out of the 22 teams present at the competition. Congratulations to our Robotics team from Wright Elementary!
